I apologize for my tardiness on getting this one posted, which should have been done last Friday, July 11th. The week had gotten away from both me and Regina! and I got tied up working on my new sister site, Possibilities by Parthena. When I was ready, I had trouble opening the attachments she sent for the interview. Zip995 gave them up just when I was about to send an SOS!
I love everything about Regina and her business, Margarita Bloom. Her passion and enthusiasm show through in everything she does, from her personality to her website. She’s classy and fabulous! I go to her iEmporium profile just to listen to her wonderful playlist! I appreciate her taking the time to provide this wonderful interview and sharing how she created her amazing business. Please take the time to visit her site and sign up for updates and specials so that you can be a Margarita Bloom girl, too!
Enjoy, and please join me in wishing Regina continued business growth and success!
How were you inspired to create your business?
I always knew from a very small age that I wanted to have my own business. It wasn’t until I got my very first computer that I was able to see the wonderful world of the internet and what I could accomplish with it. I discovered this entire world of bath and body products and that I could actually have my very own shop online. I learned how to create a website and from there Margarita Bloom was born. My passion really is bath and body goodies and every day is a new experience with a new product or new fragrance oil that gets me excited all over again!
How did you come up with your business name?
I was inspired from a couple quotes by Coco Chanel….“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” and “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
~ Coco Chanel.
I knew that I needed a name that was somehow very original but yet was something that everybody knew & of course it had to be classy and very fabulous.
It all started with the word bloom…it sounded fresh and cute….and then it hit me….Margarita Bloom….the modern girl. It was perfect. Everybody knew what a margarita was and put the two together and you got the name of a girl that loves to spice up her bath routine with lots of retro fun…the modern girl for bath and body was born! Margarita Bloom! She’s a gorgeous gal with a bit of a modern yet 1950’s flair. She loves beautiful goodies and smelling oh, so nice! nothing but the best for a Margarita Bloom girl.
How did you choose your products?
I basically pick them based on what I would love to use myself. Favorite scents, favorite products, wonderful ingredients….every product in our store is something that I personally would love to use.
How did you fund your business?
I had my family for support and of course saved, saved, saved. Lol…
What types of advertising methods have you used? What works best?
I’ve done a lot of inexpensive budget advertising but mostly word of mouth which seems to work best in answer to your other question. Getting out there and talking to the people who are your customers and clients; introducing your company to them, telling about what you have to offer really seems to be the best way at least for me!
Do you do more marketing online or locally? Which generates the most sales?
I’d have to say online. It’s really allowed me to reach people I never would have been able to reach otherwise.
Does you business fit well with your family and personal life? Is your family supportive?
Yes, of course. My family has always encouraged me to follow my dreams and is even as excited as I am!
Who is your support network outside of family? Do you have a website? Blog?
Truly I would have to say all these wonderful groups I belong to and all the new friends I’ve made along the way of growing my business. They really seem to encourage me and are genuinely excited about MB.
Our website is http://www.margarita-bloom.com and our blog http://www.margaritabloom888.blogspot.com You can even sign up for our specials on our home page too for all those Margarita Bloom girls out there!
What advice do you have for other women starting their own businesses?
I know it sounds cliché, but really follow your dreams. Find your passion and go for it. Don’t be swayed by anybody else telling you, you can’t do it. If it’s something that you really…really, really love your excitement will flow over and spill onto all the people that your company touches and they’ll be just as excited as you and in return your company will prosper.
