Important – Please Read:

Upon reading this great blog post yesterday:

How I Replaced My Day Job With Earnings From This Blog

this pure silliness got stuck in my head. Writing it down will hopefully get rid of it. To the tune of “Old MacDonald Had A Farm,” of course:

Ol’ Parthena had some blogs
Which way should she go?
And on these blogs she had some posts
Which side should she show?
With a link link here and a tag tag there
Here a link there a tag
Everywhere a keyword
Ol’ Parthena had some blogs
Maybe one should go!

That’s all. Oh, wait – no, it isn’t. I have two new Squidoos:

Attachment Disorder
Back Surgery Malpractice

That situation is getting as bad as the multiple blogs – and I need to write 42 more in order to become a “Giant Squid.” I wrote my first lens less than a year ago and am just starting to make money. The author of the blog above also recommends creating Squidoo lenses. You’ll need to be a member to rate and comment on lenses. You can sign up here:

Great New Places To Market Your Handmade Goods March 30, 2009

I’ve just updated all of my relevant Squidoo lenses to get the word out about some very exciting developments in the way that handcrafters and self-representing artists can market their one of a kind art and goods:

FuzzB, originally Blue Fuzzy Slippers, began in response to what fairy and fantasy artists on The Fairy Society Business and Social Networking site and entrepreneurs at Divapreneur wanted in an auction site. At the time, eBay was again steeped in controversy about hiking fees and other policies detrimental to the earnings of its angry and frustrated members. Read The Full Story under the heading, “Ready to Sell Your Work?”

From the website:

FuzzB  is The New Way To Get Connected!

*Connect, network, shop, and sell in a whole new way
*Get the best visibility for yourself and your product
*Make new friends and share experiences
*Share videos, commercials, photos, and blogs
*Create your own space like never before
*Make Money!

Join The Fairy Society Social Network and Marketplace and advertise yourself to the world while making friends and networking with other artists. Try out selling your work through your free Fairy Society Shop at FuzzB You’ll also want to be sure to check out the newest site for fairy and fantasy art, FaeBae.com

If you’re not buying or selling, you must come by just to see the amazing one of a kind art, jewelry and other handcrafted merchandise from gifted artisans all over the world.

Squidoo is a great way to promote yourself and earn extra income.

So, add checking out these sites to your to-do list for this week and I wish you creativity and abundance!

Attention Jewelry Designers – March Design Challenge March 26, 2009

First, I’ve been offline for a few months and there is so much to catch up on. Looks like I’m going to have to establish yet another blog for the internet marketing stuff and I have no idea what to call it or how I’m going to keep up!

Now, back to one of the many facets of my multiple personality……Jewelry Designer.  Have I told you about

Beading Daily?

Check out the blogs, forums, free projects, galleries and so much more – especially the

March Design Challenge as outlined in my Squidoo Lens

and currently, you’ll receive 5 Free Peyote Stitch patterns upon joining! The site is from Interweave Press, publishers of tons of beautiful and helpful books on the creative arts as well as some of my favorite magazines:  Step By Step Wire Jewelry, Beadwork, Jewelry Artist and more.

The deadline for the contest is March 31st – so you’ll have to hustle but there’s still a little time.  I’ve been really busy with moving but the GOOD thing is that I got all of my findings, clay, tools, etc. more organized than I’d ever dreamed in the process, so I just might have a chance – if I make something tonight and get it in the mail tomorrow!

Have a tranquil Thursday, wherever you are – and thanks for reading!

Another Made In China Toy Recalled March 18, 2009

Filed under: business, news stories — parthenablack @ 3:33 pm

When, when, when will we learn? It seems that people were far more outraged about poisoned and contaminated pet food than they have been about the number of recalls of dangerous children’s toys made in China:

Made In China Product Recalls

Here’s the latest:

State Farm Recalls 800,000 Promotional Teddy Bears

updated 7:49 a.m. CT, Wed., March. 18, 2009

NEW YORK – Insurer State Farm said on Tuesday that more than 800,000 teddy bears given out in North America as part of a company promotion were being recalled because of a choking hazard.

The toys, called the “State Farm Good Neigh Bear”, sporting a T-shirt emblazoned with the company’s logo, were given out by agents of the insurer between 2005 and 2007, the company said in a statement…………A company spokesman was not available to comment beyond the statement. The toys were made in China.  Entire Story

The new country of origin” food labeling program, although flawed, will allow us to choose whether or not to buy certain foods based upon where they come from.

The fact that toys are made in China has never been kept a secret, or at least I don’t recall that it has during my lifetime.

So why do we keep buying them?

Enough said.

Just let that marinate for a while.

Sites To Watch In 2009 March 17, 2009

I don’t usually spend much time on the MSN homepage that comes up when I get to steal some online time at work, but this article caught my attention:

Sites That Will Matter In 2009 – Reader’s Choice

Looks like several of them could be very useful for building your business or just enhancing your life.

During my most recent episode of trying to live a normal life with fibromyalgia, congestive heart failure, degenerative disc disease snowballing into a great depression (concurrent with the current great depression), my obessive compulsive disorder introduced me to network marketing. While I haven’t found a get rich quick scheme, I have found some legitimate programs which, if you have the time to spend online, can earn you a fair chunk of pocket money and free stuff. Over time (a year or two), it’s possible to earn $500 per month or more if you have the time to invest in advertising your programs. I was forced to discontinue my internet for a while due to finances and found that I had earned money and referrals while I was offline for about six weeks! The majority are established and proven programs and perfect for those who don’t want to take a risk and definitely don’t have money to play with – all of these are free to join and you can make more if you can afford to pay the small membership fees. You can join all of the programs and promote just your favorites, or promote them all with one link. My favorites and highest earners are

  • Yuwie
  • Inbox Dollars
  • Apsense
  • Clixsense
  •

and the newest one, Pyrabang, looks quite promising. Marketing Pond is great for stay at home moms – maybe I should give Octomom a shout-out….but that’s another blog……

I’ve also been filling out surveys for several years and have earned free DVD’s and CD’s. I recently found that I had earned $36 in rewards over time! and just redeemed some of it for $15 in Borders Bucks! I was able to get one of the DVD’s on my wishlist for free!
